Gallery Talk: Material Experimentation in Alfonso Ossorio: Line and Lineage

Join paper conservator Penley Knipe as she explores Alfonso Ossorio’s experimental wax-resist technique for his works on paper. She will discuss the various investigative methods used by the Straus Center to better understand Ossorio’s work as well as the conservation team’s ongoing research project on the artist. This gallery talk is offered in conjunction with the exhibition Alfonso Ossorio: Line and Lineage (October 23, 2026–April 11, 2027).
