ANNUAL TEXTILE/BOOK/VIDEO GAME DRIVE Sponsored by Cambridgeport Neighborhood Association (CAN) Clean Your Shelves; Reduce Waste; Help Non-Profits 10am to 2pm, October 24, 2026, in Hastings Square (corner of Brookline & Chestnut) Keep things out of landfills! Get your stuff to people who need it! Support the! Meet your neighbors! Bring all your unwanted, old, beat-up, or shelf-hogging books (as well as video games, DVDs, and CDs in their cases). It all will be taken by Bay State Books which supports Literacy projects such as The Prison Book program, Operation Paperback, and many friends of the library groups throughout Massachusetts. But that’s not all! For textiles, bring anything you can wear, sleep in, or dry yourself off with regardless of condition (torn, worn, stained, missing buttons, broken zippers, etc.)! This includes any type of material composed of natural or synthetic fibers, such as products made from wool, silk, linen, cotton, polyester, leather, vinyl, hemp, and rayon. But that’s still not all! In addition, Helpsy takes belts, ties, handkerchiefs, bandanas, wallets, purses, backpacks, totes, footwear, bedding and covers, halloween costumes, curtains, drapes, fabric…
