Lanterns from Moon to River
Mass Audubon Magazine Beach Park Nature Center, Cambridge, MA
Admission: Free
October 17th from 1 pm to 6 pm. Around the globe, devastating floods, extreme rainfall events, and human-driven conflicts are causing profound harm to our shared planet. This workshop invites families, youth, and community members to reflect on these challenges and cherish our precious Earth through creative practice. Participants will take part in hands-on lantern-making sessions, decorating their creations with messages of hope, care, and connection. Rooted in the belief that we have only one Earth, the project encourages reflection on nature conservation, our collective responsibility to care for the living world, and the importance of community belonging. At the end of the event, those who wish to stay are welcome to join a collective lantern parade, bringing the community festival to a hopeful close. Presented in partnership with Mass Audubon, with grant support from the Cambridge Arts Council, a local agency of the Massachusetts Cultural Council.
