The Paul Dietrich Gallery at CambridgeSeven opened its fall exhibition, A Symphony in Brick: Photography by Steve Rosenthal, on September 14. The show celebrates the architectural legacy of Haverhill’s Washington Street Shoe District through striking images of its Queen Anne and Italianate brickwork. This marks Rosenthal’s third solo presentation at the gallery and a creative homecoming, as he began his career at CambridgeSeven in 1965 before becoming a nationally recognized architectural photographer. The exhibition is presented in collaboration with Historic New England. EXHIBITION HIGHLIGHTS: Visual Storytelling of Virtuosity in Brick – See Rosenthal’s latest work, which captures the rich stories of the collaboration between skilled 19th century architects and craftsmen via photographs that detail masterful patterns and textures in brickwork. Artist Talk — Hear directly from Rosenthal about his latest project at the Opening Reception on September 17. He will be joined by Vin Cipolla, President and CEO of Historic New England, who will speak about Historic New England’s Haverhill initiative.
