This class starts with understanding salsa music’s rhythm and timing in addition to a brief history of the music and dance. You will learn the basic steps and partnering fundamentals. It will then move on to cover basic body movement, right turn, hesitation left turn, and cross-body lead. Learn simple turn patterns to get you out on the dance floor. Salsa is a musical and dance style that originated in Cuba with African roots and European influences. It later developed in New York and it’s popular throughout Latin America in places like Puerto Rico, Colombia, Peru and Cuba just to name a few.
