Struggling, out-of-work actor Will Sterling made a feature film entirely on his cell phone about a fictional version of himself, a similarly struggling, out-of-work actor making a movie on his cell phone about a struggling, out-of-work actor making a movie on his cell phone. The result is “A Cell Phone Movie,” a $20k micro-budget meta-comedy that’s just as chaotic as it is self-aware. Nominated for best debut at Raindance, it blurs the lines between reality and fiction as it explores artistic obsession, failing on purpose, and refusing to give up on a dream. The screening includes a live introduction by Sterling and a post-film talk that’s part stand-up comedy, part motivational shove to inspire you to get out there and make the d*mn thing!
