Museum Class: Seeing Art with Matisse
Harvard Art Museums, 32 Quincy Street, Cambridge, MA
This event is at capacity. Explore art history through the perspective of Henri Matisse in this four-week class that takes place in the galleries. With an emphasis on close looking and conversation, Matisse scholar Camran Mani will bring you inside the story of how art history delighted, inspired, and challenged this modern artist, and what he thought about topics from ancient sculpture and Islamic art to Cézanne and beyond. The museum was a space of creative adventure for Matisse—this class aims to make it something similar for you. The class will be held every Thursday from September 10 to October 1.
