The Course of True Love: A Lost Shakespearean Opera & Concerti of Vivaldi Join the Harvard Undergraduate Baroque Chamber Orchestra (HUBCO) in concert with Sarah Darling and Phoebe Carrai’s Charles River Baroque Orchestra (CRBO) for an evening exploring the passions and perils of love through the music of Antonio Vivaldi and Francesco Maria Veracini. Inspired by Shakespeare’s As You Like It , the program brings to life rarely heard arias from Veracini’s lost opera Rosalinda , interwoven with Vivaldi’s dazzling concerti for recorder and two violins. From the sweetness of newfound love to jealousy, heartbreak, and unexpected joy, the evening traces the course of true love through some of the Baroque’s most expressive and exhilarating music.
