Natasha Bouteira Exhibit Reception
Arts at the Armory, 191 Highland Ave, Somerville, MA
Join us at the Opening Reception for the new art exhibition by Natasha Bouteira. Natasha Bouteira is a Caracas born, Miami raised visual artist, whose work represents her experience as living between cultures. Artist Statement: My paintings explore the space I exist in as a Venezuelan immigrant, a third borderland shaped by overlapping cultures, memories, and experiences. I paint objects my family brought from Venezuela, using photographs of my parents’ apartment that feel familiar yet foreign, inherited rather than remembered. Through digital manipulation, CMYK color, distortion, and language drawn from my upbringing as a Venezuelan in Miami, I merge secondhand memories with lived experience. My work becomes a way of actively constructing the memories I cannot directly recall, exploring belonging as something constantly being made. @Bouuhaus
