2026 was a whirlwind year for Sweet Petunia. Fresh off their signing to Righteous Babe Records, on March 13th they released their debut LP, “Foggy Mountain Mental Breakdown,” drawing praise from WBUR, The Bluegrass Situation, NPR, Stereogum, and No Depression, the latter calling it “raw, real, unsettling, and memorable.” They landed support slots opening for Ani DiFranco, Billy Bragg, and Ezra Furman, appeared at AMERICANAFEST as official showcasing artists, and spent much of the year on the road honing their craft and (somehow) finding the time to workshop a whole new batch of songs. In August, the duo spent a week at Waltham’s One Horse Studio recording these songs with the help of engineer (and dear friend) June Isenhart. Stepping into the role of co-producers for the first time, they’ve emerged with an album that rings truer than anything they’ve released yet. As a gift to the community that has nurtured them all these years, on Monday, December 21st Mairead and Maddy will share these new songs and give an inside look at the writing and recording process.
