Bert Seager's Standard Deviation
The Lily Pad, 1353 Cambridge St, Cambridge, MA
Admission: $15
$15 suggested / $5 with Student ID / 6:30pm start / seated The jazz quintet Standard Deviation, led by pianist and composer Bert Seager, is a tight, two-horn, hard-bop combo that plays his arrangements of jazz standards alongside his own singable originals. The music offers plenty of room for the band to open up and interact. Their special chemistry makes it obvious why sharing jazz in an intimate club like the Lilypad remains such a compelling communal experience.
