The Commute SHOW DESCRIPTION: Four strangers are trapped in a tunnel during a sudden stop on the Red Line. As tension builds, they are forced to confront each other-and themselves. The Commute is a dark, thought provoking new comedy by Karin Anell, exploring human behavior under pressure. Who are we really, behind our masks? The evening show will be followed by an interactive talk-back and panel discussing the evolving role of technology in our lives. ARTIST STATEMENT: “I love listening to people’s life stories. My scripts are often based on individuals’ lived experiences and I believe in theatre as a powerful vehicle to bring these engaging narratives to life. Theatre can bring people together to start important conversations, and I don’t mean discussions around who was the better actor, or whether the third act was too long. I want people to leave the theatre and spend the next couple of hours discussing what they saw. How did this piece make them feel? What are they thinking right now? Did this play open their eyes to something new; see the world, and themselves, in a different light? I like to include interactive sessions with a subject matter expert(s) after performances. I…
