Intro to Editing

Four session workshop introducing Adobe Premiere: Tuesdays 5:30 to 7:30 - September 8, 15, 22, and 29. No matter what type of video you want to make, editing is key. Being able to edit is an incredible skill to have, and in this class, you will learn the art and science of editing through Adobe Premiere Pro, the editing software considered the gold standard by independent filmmakers everywhere. By the end of the course, you will be able to cut and sequence footage to tell the story you want, and alter its aesthetic to create the look and sound you desire for your project. You’ll also learn to manage and organize files to ensure a smooth workflow every time. No experience is necessary and beginners are welcomed, as is anyone with experience in other editing softwares who would like to transfer their skills to Adobe Premiere Pro! Week 1: Learning the layout of the interface, how to create and open a project, import footage and access it on the timeline, organization of material Week 2: Cutting and extending clips, dissolves and transitions, adding audio, workflow Week 3: Color correction, audio mixing, captions, graphics, exporting Week 4: Bringing it all together/Final Project
