How can we create and grow meaningful, ongoing structural and cultural change in our local and regional contexts? And how do such efforts connect to the broader expanse of the education and community systems that shape our lives? Join us on Monday, September 21, 2026, for a research webinar summarizing insights from a four-year study by the MIT Systems Awareness Lab on the implementation of the Compassionate Systems Site Development program within PreK–12 education in the United States. The webinar will share key findings, themes, and emerging questions from the lived experiences of a diverse group of practitioners growing systems-level change, leadership capacities, and diverse skills in educators and students in classroom and after school settings. The study explores how generative social fields can enable shifts in behaviors and interactions across classrooms, schools, and districts, and what such shifts yield towards meaningful systems change in education. Following the research presentation, attendees will be invited to join a community discussion and dialogue on what these findings mean and how they can be applied to other contexts and sectors.
